Indiana Region Cadillac and LaSalle Club

On the 20th of March 2010, approximately 25 members of the Indiana Region of the CLC met at the Fair Oaks Dairy Farm in Northwest Indiana for a sightseeing tour of thousands of happy cows, some very happy cows, and even a few baby cows.... And how these cows relate to processing and manufacturing of a wide variety of dairy products.
The weather was crisp with a chilling wind. Predictions of rain and snow prevented many members from driving their collector cars. As it turned out, the weather held off and it warmed up in the afternoon. The day started with a film about dairy operations, followed by a bus tour of one of the ten dairy barns in the Fair Oaks conglomerate.
After lunch the members proceeded to the second destination of the day, Earl Park Indiana. Earl Park is home of Indiana's first wind energy turbine farm. Members met in Earl Park to view the Jim and Marty Snell auto collection where a club planning meeting was held. Mr. Snell led the group on a short drive to a local landmark and then to one of the giant GE 1.5 MegaWatt turbines for an up close and personal view.
Some members then proceeded to a nearby location to view a vintage Cadillac Coupe DeVille that had been sitting in a barn for almost 20 years.
Thanks to Jim and Marty Snell for supplying a warm location for the meeting.
(William and Mary Hedge and Jim Snell were co-chairs for this event)
